Elsewhere is a pastiche of moments, layered and counter balanced, from our shared contemporary existence. The images frame our modern sensibilities with a sense of almost recalled familiarity yet without specificity of time or space. Intimate, lyrical gelatine prints evoke timeless human dramas -- heart-stopping beauty, sadness shrouded in fog, warmth of a stranger’s smile, loneliness of an unknown place — welcoming viewers to their own sense of connectedness by these communal memories. Elsewhere has many chapters, plot lines, and unexpected narrative twists while moving the viewer forward in what has been called “a silent, poetic film noir.”
The series consists of 43 images,
handprinted silver gelatin prints.
